Today we will discuss the recipe to grill lamb, that’s my personal favorite. It’s easy to prepare and cook and taste delicious.
It is basically a recipe for serving to seven or eight people; you can alter the proportion of spices and lamb according to your need. To prepare this recipe we will need, a butterflied boneless leg of lamb of three to four pound. Make sure to get excess fat trimmed. Run to our butcher and ask him for the fresh lamb. Once you have bought your lamb, make preparation for marinate. For marinate you will br needing; a half a cup of extra virgin olive oil, quarter a cup of lemon juice, four cloves of minced garlic, one tablespoon of dried oregano, two teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of pepper and a large heavy duty sealed plastic bad. Combine oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in sealable plastic bag and then add lamb, seal bag pressing out air. Turn bag to coat lamb, then put bag in a baking pan and marinate. Place the bag in the refrigerator for a day and make sure to turn the bad occasionally, after ten hours.
Keep in mind that you will need to bring your lamb at room temperature. Take them out at least an hour before you start grilling. Meanwhile prepare your salad and pita bread and aleat twenty minutes before start your gas grill. To start your grill check the gas supply or propane in the tank, it should be enough for the whole grilling process. To start the gas grill, turn the gas knobs on and ignite fire with the help of lighter. Clean the grates of the gas grill and apply little bit of oil on the grates. Turn the high heat to for ten minutes and let the grates to get burning hot.
Meanwhile, take four and five skewers and run them lengthwise through the lamb, two inches apart of each other. Once your gas grill is hot enough, lower the heat to medium and place your lamb. Make sure to close the lid, turn them after seven minutes. It will total take fourteen minutes for a perfect medium rare lamb depending on the thickness.
Once your lamb is ready, transfer them on the plate and them rest for ten minutes so that moisture can travel from the centre throughout the lamb. After that slice thick pieces against the grains of the meat and serve.
